I can hardly believe that Carter is three years old. Wow! How time flies! We sure love having him in our family. Even if he tests our patience! Carter is such a good big brother. He loves Paige and always lets me know if she is crying. He comes running saying "Mommy, Paigey needs a nap!" He calls her Paigey. His own little nick name, so sweet. Carter is all little boy, He loves to get dirty and is obsessed with Trains, Cars, Trucks and he would be content to play for hours! He is so smart and knows the words to many songs. We sure love you Carter, Happy Birthday big boy!

Here are some pictures of Carter on all of his Birthday's.

Okay, here are the Halloween pictures. At least it is before Thanksgiving!

Getting both of them to look at the same time was not easy! And yes, I know Carter is filthy!!!

Carter and I also did a fun craft. We made playdough! It actually smells great! Here is the recipe:

Kool-Aid Play Dough
1 pkg. dry kool-aid
1-1/4 c. flour
1/4 c. salt
Mix together in a bowl and make a well in the middle. Pour in:
1 T. vegetable oil
1 c. boiling water
Knead well and let cool.

Not Cool...Already?

We had our ward Halloween Party last week. Trying to keep Carter within our sight was not an easy task. The food and everything was outdoors. We got our plates of food and sat on the grass, hoping that Carter would sit and eat. Well, he did sit and eat but not by us. He insisted that he needed to sit by his "friends!" He found some boys sitting a little ways off and made himself comfortable. I asked Jeremy if we were uncool already? Can a 2 year old really feel that he has to sit with his friends at a ward diner?

After church this week he ran off in the parking lot. Jeremy chased him and told him he needed to go to his room for time out. On the ride home he kept saying "Mommy, I am sorry." Then he said, "Mommy, that was not a good choice, I am sorry." Ha, how could I not laugh. Unfortunately for Carter, bad choices give us bad consequences, even when we are sorry.

I will post pictures of our cute costumes soon!

Good things:

1. Carter's first time really enjoying Halloween.

2. Carter now voluntarily says he is sorry, even if he doesn't mean it.

3. When both kids nap at the same time!

We usually have to lock Carter's door at night. He then stays in bed with out complaint. If the door is open he comes out and tries everything to get out of going to bed. The other night  he had been in bed for over an hour so I went and unlocked his door before going to bed myself. I heard him start to talk when he heard his door unlock. I waited and his door slowly opened. He was standing there completely naked. I said, "what are you doing?" He replied, "I don't know." So I put his pull up and pj's back on and tucked him back in bed. He said "No, not these Jammies." I of course just said tough this is what you get. Then at 3 am I heard him screaming and pounding on his door. I went in and he  said " I am cold and wet." Well he was nude again and had of course wet his bed. I put his pj's back on and fixed his bed. Then when he got up at 7 he was down to his diaper. At least he wasn't all the way naked....right? So He had made up his mind that he did not want to wear those jammies!

I had my first week at church without Jeremy. He had to work and I braved Sacrament meeting alone. These were no available benches for me to trap Carter with. I had to brave the folding chairs. ( Our ward is so huge!) I found a spot that had people on both sides. Carter did really well until Paige became restless. As soon as I picked her up to comfort her, he decided to make a break for it. I passed Paige off to someone to go and get Carter off the podium. I was really embarrassed and wanted just leave, but I stayed the whole meeting. The wonderful family behind me kept Paige and even carried her to that car for me. I was so grateful for the help. This sweet sister said that her husband was a fireman and she had to brave sacrament meeting alone when there 6  kids were small. Wow! I don't know if I could do it every week.!

Good things:

1. Paige doesn't get up in the night, or undress herself.

2. Carter's independent mind ( I think)

3. People willing to offer a much needed headlock.

Last week we celebrated our 4th anniversary! It seems strange, so much has happened. In four years we have:

Lived in 3 homes

Had 5 Jobs

Had 2 amazing and busy kids

Bought a new car

Jeremy has had every calling in the bishopric, Councilor, Secretary, Clerk (except for bishop thankfully)

I have taught Sunday school, Primary, Achievement days, been in the Primary Presidency and been the Young Women's President

Jeremy started his Masters degree, and he only had 8 weeks left!

So much more than I could list.

Jeremy is so much fun to be married too! He is always full of surprises and takes such good care of me and our family.

He took a personal day at work and we were able to spend the whole day together. Grandma Brummett took both kids all day!! Thanks so much! It was great! We went to a movie, ran a few errands, then Jeremy took me out to Red Rock were we did a sunset horseback ride and dinner around the campfire! It was so much fun! I had not been on a horse in years and it felt good and we were able to enjoy the beautiful scenery. Sometimes we get so busy and stressed that we need days like this to just enjoy and have fun together.

good things:

1. A whole day with out kids

2. Grandma's who will watch them all day!

3. Being married to your best friend.
